Planting scheme for riverside garden in Frensham

The newly landscaped garden of this fantastic riverside property in Frensham had multiple areas that required planting.

Flower beds being prepared

Yorkstone paving and old English brick pavers gave the garden a classic feel, which we complemented using cottage-syle plants such as Phlox, Delphiniums, Irises and Hydrangeas in a palette of purple, pinks and white.

At key points throughout the year, I visit the garden to ensure all the plants are pruned correctly to keep the garden flourishing.

Topiary balls and elegant ornamental grasses were interwoven to link the planting areas and give structure over the winter.

The gardens wrap the house and the varying aspects led to specific planting requirements for the different areas, including sunny terraces, sunken beds around a raised firepit and some parts that would remain in deep shade for most of the day.

Careful plant selection and thoughtful companion planting has resulted in a beautiful garden that gives interest throughout the year.
